La Purisima Mission State Historic Park is located near Lompoc and Vandenberg Village and is the site of a mission that was founded in 1787. This site is considered to be the most restored mission in California, with ten of the original buildings fully restored and furnished. These buildings include the church, a blacksmith shop, gardens and a barn with livestock. A variety of events are held at the park throughout the year. Ocean Beach + My Favorites
This park and beach is located 13 mi west of Lompoc and provides the only beach access to this area. The isolated pristine shorelines lure many bird-watchers and nature photographers to this park. Barbecue grills and picnic tables along with a playground and restrooms area provided within the park. Hours of operation are from 8 am - sunset.
