Located 3.5 mi south of Lompoc, this park offers a quiet atmosphere removed from the city. Miguelito Creek winds through the park and the area offers barbecue pits and grills as well as picnic tables. Hiking and biking trails, horseshoes, a playground and restroom are all available within the park.
La Purisima Mission State Historic Park is located near Lompoc and Vandenberg Village and is the site of a mission that was founded in 1787. This site is considered to be the most restored mission in California, with ten of the original buildings fully restored and furnished. These buildings include the church, a blacksmith shop, gardens and a barn with livestock. A variety of events are held at the park throughout the year.
This park and beach area provides visitors with a campground, a general store a day use area and fire pits and grills. The day use area hours are from 6 am. - dark and a camping fee must be paid for anyone staying beyond the allotted hours. All pets must be on a leash and owners must provide proof of a rabies vaccination.
Italian Stone Pines
This unusually placed grove of Italian Stone Pines is classified as the largest outside of the Mediterranean. Planted by mistake in the early to mid 1900s, today the trees still flourish and have become a popular tourist attraction.
Ocean Beach
This park and beach is located 13 mi west of Lompoc and provides the only beach access to this area. The isolated pristine shorelines lure many bird-watchers and nature photographers to this park. Barbecue grills and picnic tables along with a playground and restrooms area provided within the park. Hours of operation are from 8 am - sunset.
